Print on Demand wins Best Use of Technology
No matter what problems our clients bring to the table, every member of our team endeavours to collaborate and solve these problems to the best of their ability. So, when the product development application that we developed for Dudley Building Society won an award at The Express & Star Business Awards for Best Use of Technology, our team felt an overwhelming wave of achievement.
These awards celebrate local businesses who are making a big difference for their customers and communities. Originally, our application set out to reduce print costs for Dudley, but with some creative thinking and digital ingenuity along the way, the final solution exceeded all expectations. The application streamlined Dudley’s product management process, reduced print wastage, provided a rich stream of data for marketing use and transformed the customer journey in-branch.
The Express & Star wrote about how “Dudley Building Society impressed the judges with its transformation of customer service thanks to a new product launch system.
Leigh White, Marketing and Communications Manager, remarked on how the Print on Demand system has “transformed the way we launched products”.
“The traditional approach was through printed media, but we’ve been able to move away from that. Now we can create bespoke, customised product literature for our customers through the branch network or online”, he explained.
Due to regulatory reforms in the industry, Dudley need to be on the ball when it comes to updating product literature in accordance with legislation that came into force in January 2017. Our application allows Dudley to amend or create new products within the working day. This is a significant improvement on their traditional approach, which could take up to seven days to amend products.
For our Head of Digital, David Titley, the award was not a complete surprise.
“I’ve always been confident in the solution because it ticks so many boxes for Dudley. Leigh came to us looking to reduce print costs and was presented with a robust, secure system that has great commercial benefits, and is a hit with their customers.”
With a wealth of financial sector experience on his side, David Fyfe, Managing Director, is keen to point out the influence from the whole team.
“This project had input from all over the business. It’s not just about the digital app. Our understanding of the financial market and ability to think outside the box was the start point that ignited this project.
“The new product literature designs look great, and the superb project management from our Client Services team was vital. They allowed the Studio and Digital teams to get their heads down and do what they do best.”
Creating award-winning solutions is an accolade that our team fully deserve, but we’re not getting complacent. Technology moves fast – we’ll move faster.
